Title:	Midway-Benton No. 1 Rebuild Project
Description:	The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) proposes to rebuild the 28-mile long Midway-Benton No.1 and approximately 11 miles of the Benton-Othello No.1 115-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines located in Benton County, Washington. The proposed project lies entirely within the Hanford Site. The existing transmission lines would be replaced with new wood poles, new conductor (electrical wires), and all associated structural components (cross arms, insulators, and dampers). In November 2011, BPA began soliciting public input on the proposed project as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). We contacted interested parties and requested comments on the proposed project. Since that time, BPA conducted an environmental review of the proposal and prepared a preliminary environmental assessment (EA) that is informed by the comments and opinions that were received. The preliminary EA evaluates the impacts associated with the Proposed Action and its alternatives and describes proposed mitigation measures that could be used to avoid or minimize those impacts. We invite you to review and comment on the preliminary EA.
