Comment: There are many rumors about what is happening now with our power and how we can keep our plant running. Alcoa believes that we cannot run without a much lower energy price. They are right but I do not believe Alcoa deserves a lower energy price. Since Alcoa purchased Intalco there have been little to no improvements made to the facility. The men and women who work here have been busting their rear ends to keep inadiquate equipment running for years now. The company has has shown very little long term interest in investing to keep this plant open even when metal prices were high. The older employees can attest that once Alcoa took over, maintinence went out the window, systems that had been working well for years were tossed out to make room for acronyms that do little but create useless meetings and disgruntled workers. Intalco is full of great people that have devoted their lives to making a quality product and make this place work but Alcoa has not in any way compensated these people for their extraordinary efforts. Aloca's only push has been profits for the large volume stockholders. Yes, we are all working to make money but Aloca is taking the dignity from the workers for the sake of a couple extra dollars. This is not how the Aluminum Corperation of America should be treating the people that have made it one of the most prolific companys in the world today. Many of our employees with other job options are taking them and the company shifts the work load onto the already overworked people. Nobody is happy in this situation. Let it go. The massive amount of power we use could literally power and subsidize thousands of other businesses. It would be a great loss for the communtiy in short term but would be a strong move for America's future. Thank you for your consideration.
